JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Distribution Director is on the forefront of supply chain integration efforts between Transamerican Auto Parts (TAP) and its parent company Polaris Industries. This role is responsible for leading multiple distribution centers in all areas of operations across several TAP and Polaris facilities. This role is accountable for supporting and developing the strategic vision and tactical execution of the mission and initiatives for the Polaris Supply Chain network. The position will directly manage multiple DC sites and Operations Managers; providing coaching, mentoring and support in the development of staff. The Regional Distribution Director ensures that customers receive the highest level of service and makes decisions to maximize the Supply Chain Network's safety, quality, delivery and cost. This role will provide clear leadership in the integration of Polaris and current subsidiaries supply chain network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Partners with Sr. Distribution leadership to define and execute strategy and plans for all distribution centers, based on company objectives
- Develop high-performing leadership team, responsible for all levels of team development
- Creates a positive work environment focused on positive reinforcement and clear accountabilities
- Foster strong healthy culture with focus on positive employee relations and high employee engagement across facilities
- Works directly with the Distribution Center site leadership to maintain and improve levels of safety, quality, delivery and cost (SDQC)
- Leads cross-site continuous improvement projects with specific focus on initiatives to further standardize and optimize processes and procedures as it pertains to SDQC
- Develop and maintain knowledge specific to each facility's operating requirements; this includes leading facilities which apply unique processes and systems to serve different brands and customer channels
- Develop a high performing safety culture, includes training, tracking, incident investigation and continuous improvement to provide a risk free environment
- Foster year over year improvement in the quality and delivery metrics to provide an enriched customer experience through the supply chain
- Responsible for developing and meeting the budgets for the distribution centers. Accountability for the DC network performance levels, adequate expense levels, space, equipment, staffing levels and overhead to meet the annual budgetary plan for assigned distribution centers
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
1. 10+ years of large scale, distribution, manufacturing or supply chain/operations experience
2. Proven leadership experience in progressively higher level roles of increased responsibility
3. 4-year degree required, preferably in engineering, supply chain/operations or business related field; masters preferred
4. Strong understanding of distribution: logistics, fulfillment, operations, and facilities
5. Strategic thinker with ability to be hands-on in the operation
6. Skillful leader with proven ability to drive change and sustain results through strong problem solving capabilities supported by metrics
7. Experience in new facility start-up preferred
8. Multi-site Distribution Center operations leadership experience, managing multiple brands
9. Prior experience with acquisition integration and supply chain optimization
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills; proven ability to navigate across organizational boundaries
11. Prove ability to develop talent and create a high talent organization
