Basic Function: The Associate Director of Admissions Marketing functions within the Admissions Marketing, Data Management & Research (AMDMR) department and is primarily responsible for leading the Admissions Marketing team and for casting the admissions marketing vision and strategy at all program levels. This employee is responsible for directing the Admissions Marketing team as they create and implement strategic marketing initiatives with the purpose of enrolling new students. In addition, this employee is responsible for overseeing the teamreation and maintenance of all admissions marketing collateral.
Responsibilities: * Admissions Marketing Team Leadership: Responsible for leading the university Admissions Marketing team for all program levels. Will direct the Admissions Marketing professional and student staff as one unified team, ensuring that it works smoothly and productively. Will seek to engage and unlock the gifts of each person on the team.
- Marketing Insight and Innovation: Responsible for bringing fresh marketing insight and for casting a vision for admissions marketing. This employee must encourage innovation and fresh ideas, creating a culture that encourages risk-taking and creativity, and that pushes us to think differently.
- New Program Development & Other Strategic Initiatives: Responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of strategic marketing plans for new academic programs as they are created and launched, in addition to creating and directing other strategic admissions marketing initiatives.
- Print Collateral: Responsible for leading the team in the conceptualization and creation of all print marketing collateral for admissions at Biola University at all program levels including undergraduate, graduate, and post-traditional undergraduate. This will require coordinating with University Communications and Marketing (UCM). This employee is also responsible for overseeing the marketing teampdating and maintenance of this collateral.
- Direct Marketing: Responsible for directing the strategic creation of a robust series of communication pieces, both print and electronic (email), to prospective students at all program levels, and also to essential constituents (parents, influencers, etc.).
- Admissions Operations Collaboration: Responsible to work closely with Admissions Operations in optimizing the utilization of CRM Recruit, both in direct marketing as well as in data collection and strategic data analysis. Responsible to ensure that our marketing and communication is data-driven, effective, and efficient.
- Social Media: Will work with the Admissions Marketing professional and student staff, as well as with UCM, to lead the team into strategic and creative usage of social media platforms for admissions marketing.
- Vendor Management: Responsible for managing the day-to-day relationships with select admissions marketing vendors. These vendors acquire and generate leads and inquiries, market to prospective students, create connection points between Biola and interested students, and print and mail marketing collateral. Will work with the Director of Admissions Marketing, Data Management & Research to strategically integrate these vendors into the admissions marketing plans of the university.
- Web Team: Responsible to serve on the university web team with other members of Admissions Marketing, UCM, and IT. Will coordinate with UCM regarding website content creation and to ensure that the university website is an effective admissions marketing tool.
- Admissions Mailroom: Responsible to oversee the effective utilization of the admissions mailroom for the sending out of print collateral and admissions letters that are most effectively sent from our own mailroom rather than from an external vendor. Responsible for ensuring the team maintains the needed volume of print marketing collateral and other marketing items (t-shirts, pennants, giveaways, etc.).
- Budgetary Oversight: Responsible for directly managing the Undergraduate Marketing budget 223300 and for providing oversight of the Graduate Marketing budget 224200 which is managed by the Manager of Graduate Admissions Marketing. Overseeing these budgets involves working with Central Stores staff, Purchasing, UCM, Accounting, and outside vendors.
- Supervision: Supervises five professional staff (Manager of Graduate Admissions Marketing, Admissions Marketing Coordinator, Admissions Marketing Copy Writer, and two CRM & Communication Specialists) and seven student workers (4 Mailroom Assistants and 3 Marketing Interns). This position also consults and assists with the Ambassador program as needed. This supervision involves managing the hiring and training processes for this positions, as well as the professional development of these employees as they seek to thrive in using their gifts in the service of the university.
- Collaboration with other Teams: This position is a central and connecting position between Admissions Marketing and many other departments, notably Admissions Recruiting at all levels, Admissions Events, Admissions Operations, UCM, and academic departments and schools. It is essential that this employee build bridges and trust. This will often necessitate regular presence at team meetings, including but not limited to: admissions leadership meetings at all levels, UCM/Admissions meetings, Web Team meetings, and Admissions Operations meetings.
- Committees: This employee will regularly attend EMLG (Enrollment Management Leadership Group). In addition, this person will be asked to serve on committees related to admissions marketing for the university as needed.

Qualifications: 1. Education: Requires a Bacheloregree (BA/BS) from a 4-year college or university, or requisite experience in a related field. Five years of related training or experience in marketing or higher education admissions is preferred. Experience in supervision is preferred.
2. Communication/Leadership/Personal Skills: This position requires the ability to conceptualize and develop creative marketing strategies and cast a vision for admissions marketing. This position must be able to oversee the production of marketing messaging. An understanding of marketing insight is essential. This position also requires soft skills of leadership, as much collaboration and connection with others is required. This position requires the ability to manage a large number of projects simultaneously and well. Project management experience is preferred.
3. Technical Skills: This position requires the ability to learn basic web content management. This position must have experience using social media platforms. Knowledge of and experience with social media marketing strategy and marketing analysis is preferred.
