The Senior Director of Digital Software Engineering will build a dynamic team of designers and application engineers with strong UI and coding background. The Senior Director is responsible for developing and delivering experiences on a modern web platform as well as leading and mentoring other developers. The Senior Director will work to build positive, productive relationships with other teams within the organization to execute on web initiatives.
The Senior Director will help establish solid practices and a consistent front-end technology framework for delivering effective experiences across our various web properties. Technologies will include JavaScript, jQuery, JS templating engines, HTMLS, Adobe AEM, J2EE, other modern JS libraries and frameworks, build tools and delivery systems.
The Senior Director will have accountability for overseeing and influencing all aspects of development and delivery while constantly moving ahead to improve development efficiencies, all while providing the necessary leadership to deliver releases on time and on budget.
Responsibilities: - Hire, build and lead a dynamic team of designers and web development engineers with strong UI background
- Responsible for driving and executing consumer product, UX and technology roadmap
- Work closely with Xilinx executives to gather user feedback to iterate and improve/evolve product
- Plan and deliver product releases, identify project risks and develop/execute mitigation plans
- Develop digital consumer experiences based on foundation of the Adobe AEM product suite, including AEM, CRX, Target and DAM
- Translate marketing and web site needs into AEM specific recommendations and solutions
- Leverage AEM, other state-of-the-art technologies, and integration patterns to solve cross-departmental challenges
- Design and improve internal development methodologies around Adobe AEM solution
- Deliver a robust self-service environment for the end user community
- Design and code from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements complex software apps
- Create and integrate content-driven applications on top of AEMs core platform and integrate with E-commerce solutions and search engines
- Work with technology teams to build and maintain web applications using Adobe's Experience Manager CMS to include site architecture, custom components, workflow development, Digital Asset Management (DAM)
- Integrate websites with web analytics tools and analyze/report on analytics data
- Lead, mentor and groom a strong team of managers, leads, designers and engineers
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (MBA preferred)
- 10+ years in Internet related system development for a public-facing internet web site.
- Exposure to AEM Sites preferred
- Experience working with CMS platforms, and 5+ years of experience building with Adobe Experience Manager/CQ5
- Experience developing applications, templates, and components for the Adobe AEM product (WCM, DAM, CRX)
- Experienced Java Developer with knowledge in web framework based development and internet technologies
- Experience customizing workflows and integration with other enterprise systems
- Demonstrated experience with Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 and related technologies
- Working knowledge and understanding of the following: Apache Sling, Apache Felix, Apache and App server logs, OSGi, RESTful web services, Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, HTML, CSS
- Ability to write complex programs, analyze code changes and make suggestions to improve code complexity for maintainability and scalability
- Ability to reason logically and creatively, identifying problems, drawing valid conclusions from the data available, and developing effective solutions while applying creative thinking in the design and development of high performing web application
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser, cross-platform, cross-device issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, mobile devices, etc.)
