Job Responsibilities The Global Mobile Broadband Business Unit at Viasat is growing at an increasing rate, creating the need for a full time aircraft connectivity leader who has the background to put together technical offers that include Satellite Communications (SATCOM) hardware, software, service plans and customer specific applications which solve problems that passengers, operators and pilots face today. The candidate will also function in a strong customer support role and help develop the right channel and product partners' strategies for long term growth in this segment.
This requisition is for the position of Business Aviation Director of Strategic Planning and Partnerships. In this role, the Director will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for creating and implementing long term strategic plans for expanding the Business Aviation market as we transition from our present Ku network to our new Ka network. This strategy roadmap will include alternative analysis based on business cases, a comprehensive look at strategic partnerships with special emphasis on value added resellers of our service and hardware distribution channels, Merger and Acquisition candidates, and pricing strategies. The Director will also support numerous business development activities such as internal and external briefings, trade show planning and execution, panel participation, and helping create marketing material.

Requirements - 10+ years of strategic business development experience in Business Aviation (aerospace related enterprise customer and/or partner/value added reseller experience ).
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proven and verifiable success in sales and marketing
- Experience in strategic planning for commercial markets
- Strong familiarity with Satcom networks and terminals for mobile aviation platforms
- Familiarity with business aviation platforms such as those made by Gulfstream, Bombardier, and Dassault
- Bachelor's Degree in Business with MBA preferred
- US Government position. US Citizenship Required
- Ability to travel up to 50% or more, including international travel
