Banner Health is looking for a Periop/Procedural Care Transformation Director to join their Administration Team at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix.
This Director will act as an influential change agent and utilize their extensive background in perioperative and procedural (Cardiac, Endoscopy, etc.) healthcare delivery and operations. We seek creative and innovative individuals who can lead high performing teams to develop and implement solutions to improve perioperative and procedural operational efficiency and support business unit growth and delivery.
Key attributes: - Previous perioperative or procedural area (Cardiology, Endoscopy, etc.) leadership experience.
- Previous experience growing healthcare business units or service lines is role will develop strategies and growth initiatives for these service lines (perioperative and procedural areas). Will be managing capital budgets, reviewing utilization and expenditures, etc.
- Have previously lead efforts to drive change and influence key stakeholders to implement solutions to increase operational efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability in healthcare.
- Leads the analysis and evaluation of clinical outcomes, financial and operational performance, to deliver value based care. Guides the development and implementation of short and long-range goals and objectives based off findings.
- *Develop strategies and design improvements using professional business process methodologies and tools to standardize and improve reliability (e.g. LEAN, Six Sigma, TQM, etc.)

Job Summary This position is responsible for the direction of business operations of a facility procedural department(s). Tracks and manages budgets to review utilization and expenditures ensuring operational efficiency and revenue growth. Develops and implements strategies for the clinical care of a defined group of patient care/clinical area. May also have responsibility for non-clinical functions related to the clinical area(s). Plans and implements vision for patient care to ensure quality outcomes and a high degree of patient, physician and employee satisfaction
Essential Functions Provides leadership and sets quality performance expectations that promote retention, safety, growth, and clinical excellence within and across procedural based service lines.
Partners to develop strategies and growth initiatives that lead to outcomes supportive and synergistic with facility and organizational plans and initiatives. Actively collaborates and assists with procedural based service line leadership to develop strategic plans and assessments of capital expenditures.
Manages department financial and capital budgets by monitoring operating revenue and expenses. Establishes and maintains cost control programs and developing and implementing new or revised programs and/or services set out in the business plan. Researches and recommends need for future resources and technology based on business patterns and growth.
Provides direction for process improvement activities, including the establishment of performance measures to attain optimal clinical, operational, financial and satisfaction outcomes. Directs the collection, analysis and presentation of data on utilization patterns and other program outcomes including supply optimization within areas of responsibility.
Drives improvement and change by leading facility initiative teams that support strategic plans for growth and development. Accountable for results and is supportive of appropriate staff needed to achieve goals.
Drives improvement activities and partners with Patient Financial Services staff ensuring efficient and accurate processes including but not limited to scheduling, financial information and reimbursements.
Minimum Qualifications Requires a level of business and clinical knowledge as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in business administration, health services administration or related field.
Depending on assigned area of responsibility, clinical licensure may be required.
Requires a level of knowledge and ability normally achieved by a minimum of 5 years management experience in program development or service line management. Must have the ability to foster and inspire a collaborative work environment; guide and motivate physicians, peers, management, and subordinates; and build strong relationships of trust. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to be assertive and approachable. Must be hard-working, self-motivated, and results oriented.
Preferred Qualifications Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
