Director of Talent and Organizational Effectiveness

The Kennametal Human Resources function is seeking a leader to drive the companylobal talent and organizational effectiveness strategies, ensuring that they align to and support business goals and objectives. Reporting directly to Kennametalhief Human Resources Officer, the Director of Talent and Organizational Effectiveness will serve as a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team, and have a broad sphere of influence throughout the organization.
Responsibilities of the position include:
- Developing and implementing global talent strategies to attract, grow, develop, and retain team members throughout the organization
- Driving business results through the development of key Organizational Effectiveness strategies and processes
- Providing strategic direction and leadership for global talent acquisition initiatives and effectively partnering with and leading an outsourced recruitment organization
- Serving as a change leader with the deployment of talent and performance modules within the SuccessFactors platform
- Providing expertise and thought leadership on topics such as change management, diversity and inclusion, performance management, engagement, selection and assessment, and succession planning
- Establishing systems of accountability, performance standards, and measures of success against which the effectiveness of the function can be evaluated
- Building strong partnerships with HR colleagues, the business, and external partners to help identify, develop and accomplish initiatives within the function
- Leading a team of direct reports and supporting them through the various stages of the employee lifecycle, utilizing self-service tools as is appropriate
Skills and requirements for the position include:
- Minimum of a Bacheloregree in a related field, with an MBA or advanced degree or certification, strongly preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with previous experience working as a strategic HR business partner a plus
- Experience working within an HR shared services model a plus
- Organizational design experience a plus
- Effective communication skills and ability to influence and empower at all levels within the organization, from individual contributors through executive leadership teams
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into strategic initiatives and drive them to successful outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to effectively coach and mentor talent at all levels
- Well-versed in talent and organizational effectiveness subject matter
