DESCRIPTION The Manager of Finance, Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) will be responsible for providing financial support for projects that drive multi-billion dollar buying decisions. This role will work with retail leaders, research scientists, project managers, software developers, and regional Finance teams. The candidate will help prioritize execution of key technology programs which optimize free cash flow and drive inventory leverage. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain performance measurements on strategic projects to continuously improve the economics of the business.
The role is located in Amazon's Headquarters in downtown Seattle.
Responsibilities will include: · Providing financial support 200+ person organization.
· Partnering with Retail teams in vendor negotiations to drive hundreds of millions of incremental profitability.
· Partnering with research scientists and economists to build inventory valuation and optimization models.
· Supporting vendor selection programs that influence nearly all buying decisions for the Retail business, resulting in millions of decisions every day and billions of dollars every month.
· Supporting new technology programs which improve customer experience and financial performance through free cash flow and inventory management.
· Meeting with Retail Finance and Category Leaders to drive project adoption and implementation across the business.
· Reviewing and validating economic models and analytics, ensuring initiatives are traceable to financial metrics and resource allocations are justified.
· Developing financial metrics based on statistical modeling and simulation techniques to audit initiatives.
· Coordinating and providing financial inputs for monthly and quarterly business reviews, operating plans, and project related deep dives.
· Building and maintaining high level knowledge across all business areas by staying current on initiatives and challenges/opportunities across the business.
· Preparing financial updates, including relevant analyses versus prior periods and providing forecasts/budgets, examining associated risk/opportunities with respect to technology resources.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS · MBA or Masters In Economics, Finance or similar discipline with analytical bias
· Advanced knowledge of supply chain operations including inventory and transportation management
· 8+ years' experience in a large corporate finance environment with heavy emphasis on analytics
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Ability to write and read basic SQL. Advanced SQL would be considered a plus
· Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable items
· Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic, & opaque environment
· Ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload; effective multi-tasking skills vital
· Strong communication and presentation skills
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge or influence senior company leaders
· Strong knowledge of statistical modeling and testing techniques is a plus
