The Senior Manager of Technical Accounting will work closely with the Director of Accounting in addressing technical accounting issues including revenue recognition, business combinations, stock-based compensation and adoption of new standards. This position will also be responsible for managing the financial close and consolidation process in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Manage the monthly financial close and reporting process, including the consolidation of the financial statements, review of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in preparation of the monthly management report, board of director and audit committee presentations
- Assist in the preparation of year-end and quarter-end reporting by working with external auditors on annual audits and quarterly reviews
- Manage the review process and filing of SEC reports on Form 10-K and Form 10-Q
- Responsibilities also include audit preparation and oversight of general ledger, including review of results for adherence with US GAAP
- Responsible for researching and documenting conclusions on technical accounting issues
- Assess the impact of newly-issued and proposed accounting and reporting standards on the Company
- Responsible for developing and maintaining key accounting policies
- Maintains compliance with all internal control procedures surrounding technical accounting and policy in support of SOX compliance
- Support FP&A in matters requiring technical expertise or collaborative effort in preparation of annual operating plans and budgets throughout the year
- Identify opportunities to improve current financial reporting processes and effectively communicate a business case to members of senior management to support future investments
- Provide hands-on management and oversight of the accounting team members to encourage ongoing skills development and training
Requirements: EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bacheloregree in Business Administration or Accounting
- 8+ years experience (manufacturing/biotech experience highly preferred) with prior public accountin and management experience required
- SEC Reporting experience in a public company required
- Certified Public Accountant (current active or inactive license)
- In-depth understanding of US GAAP
- Microsoft Excel expertise with advanced knowledge of pivots and formulas
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with LN ERP preferred
