Functions/Duties of Position
The Project Manager position within the ITG - BI University Analytics team plays a major role in identifying, leading, developing, and implementing technology-based Business Intelligence (BI) solutions for OHSU's Academic and Administrative subject areas. This individual is a key liaison between business users (e.g. HR, Central Financial Services, School of Medicine, OPAM, the Registrar's OfficeI Business Analysts and IT project teams. Working closely with business partners and technical staff, the Project Manager will ensure that projects and key maintenance/support efforts are completed on time and according to specified requirements necessary to address customer needs. These activities will include monitoring project and support work, triaging work, maintaining project plans, project documentation and reference materials. In addition this position is responsible for communicating to key stake holders through status reports, presentations and written documentation to assure that project and system stake holders have all necessary information regarding team efforts and system changes.
As a member of the Business Intelligence team this individual must be familiar with BI tools (e.g. IBM Cognos Analytics, IBM Planning Analytics, Tableau nd concepts necessary to support business partners and team members. This will include monitoring progress and/or participating in writing functional requirements, documenting use cases, solution development and application of development standards to ensure that the project team delivers solutions that meet the customer's needs while minimize defects. This will also include establishing agreements between the business customer and the project team on the requirements of the system, the scope and the timeline for planned and in progress work.
The individual in this position must be available for rotation through an afterhours on-call support model as needed for upgrades, project go-lives or to provide ongoing support of new systems that may require 24x7 support agreements.
Job Requirements Master's degree in business or computer science or related field and four years work related experience in the information technology field; OR
Bachelor's degree in business or computer science or related field and six years work related experience in the information technology field;
- Two or more years of experience with Cognos products or other BI products
- Business analyst experience with Oracle EBS, Oracle Financial Apps or other comparable ERP systems.
- Experience leading requirements gathering sessions and documenting associated business requirements for large-scale IT projects.
- Experience planning and managing IT projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing a project to a successful completion.
- Experience leading technical teams
- Proven communication, analytical ad problem solving skills
- Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures
