Position Title: Technical Continuous Improvement Manager (Quality & Food Safety)

Purpose of Role This role is responsible for leading the Assessment, Implementation and ongoing continuous improvement of all technical standards and processes necessary to run manufacturing facilities to the highest level of quality and food safety. Coordinating a team of technical experts, the manufacturing network in NA pet will be assured through a robust auditing program that drives compliance in all functions at the site, defines and delivers appropriate training for all associates connected with the daily operation of a standard and at a frequency appropriately risk assessed for each site.
This role creates a culture of ongoing improvement that challenges the status quo and behaviors in order to improve quality, cost, and delivery. Working with both site teams and central Lean 6 sigma function (in commercial) this role will drive a culture of continuous improvement in line with our principles and under the banner of QMP compliance. Using 6 sigma tools to identify regional opportunities within quality processes and interfaces and allowing site PPI teams to apply these skills to drive efficiency, waste and quality improvements on daily activities at a site level
This role will also be a change management facilitator- applying the ADKAR model to all technical standards implementation across the network.
Principal Accountabilities - Implementation of the suite of Mars Petcare Q&FS Technical Standards relevant to a manufacturing site at all sites in the pet care, fish care and horse care networks (NA Pet).
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for sites to ensure ongoing compliance to standards
- Key QFS accountability/ support for all major projects or changes associated with technical standards
- Provide technical expertise for 6 sigma and change management
- Lead the change management agenda and program for the region
- Provide technical leadership during crisis and issue resolution at the sites.
- Manage projects and implement sustainable solutions through delivering successful Lean 6 Sigma initiatives that typically span cross functional areas, and utilize specific tools and techniques with an overall philosophy of Total Quality Management
- Coach and Mentor collaborative individuals by driving engagement, support for projects and improving technical capability in our network
- Works with business leadership to identify, define and scope Lean 6 Sigma improvement opportunities
- Develops and applies necessary technical skills to deliver improvement results (such as Lean, 6 Sigma, VSM FMEA, RCA etc.)
- Engages process/department personnel in all phases of Lean 6 Sigma improvement efforts (including Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC projects, creating Standard Work, and 6 Sigma ways of working).
- Develops strong technical network with cross functional leadership
- Manage /Support Corrective Action/ Preventive Action Program (CAPA) relating to above Develop and deliver the suite of technical training to each site/function , utilizing a training needs analysis in consultation with each Site QFS manager.
- Support Global QFS standards development process- be NA Pet expert and representative in new standards development at corporate level

Key Functional Skills/Knowledge
- Strong engineering fundamentals and familiarity with plant design and statistical data analysis.
- Understanding of Mars Inc. QFS standards
