General Summary Under moderate supervision, assists in the set up, maintenance and analysis of merchandise and/or services offered through VSP RetailCommerce businesses to maximize customer satisfaction and business performance.
Essential Functions Supports and contributes to the Category Management team with assigned adhoc efforts and projects to identify and evaluate concepts for market potential and practicality
Process owner for key product set up and maintenance activities including product catalogue, product attributes, and pricing set up.
Sets up and manages key category management operating reports
Works closely with category management, procurement and marketing to identify category and user trends helpful in maximizing sales, profit and customer satisfaction
Works with web analytics and market research to provide helpful business and consumer insights.
Works with Omni-channel business development manager to provide information and insights helpful to grow and improve ECP / retailer relationships.
Job Specifications Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bacheloregree in Business, Marketing or a related field or equivalent work experience
Three years of experience in category management, product management, marketing or finance
Three years of experience in analyzing sales, financial and inventory information, evaluating profitability and identifying trends
Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
Strong excel, access, or similar database skills
Ability to effectively communicate information to a wide variety of individuals or groups
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
Ability to regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment the in performance of his/her job duties.
Preferred Skills - Responsible for planning and executing strategies to best present the characteristics and features of the site's product and service offerings while driving consumer engagement and maximizing sales conversion
- Oversee all merchandising tactical planning to support category management plans, including product assortment, product image selection, product catalog, visual optimization, and cross-selling/up-selling
- Manage, maintain, and conduct QA on the storefront on a daily basis
- Analyze site metrics and related data to identify opportunities to improve conversion rate and drive revenue growth
- Support Category Manager with best/worst seller reports, assortment updates, adhoc reports and sample management
- Ensure effective, timely, and accurate deployment of licensed and owned brand assets, product images and descriptions, pricing, promotions, inventory, and other content on the storefront
- Support digital marketing plans including enhancement of brand image and key initiatives
- Align and execute ongoing merchandising in concert with ongoing traffic-driving activities such as email, SEM/SEO, social media and other digital marketing channels
- Support customer service and other operational teams as well as digital marketing/brand management to ensure the site's content is aligned with operations and marketing communications
- Continually gauge usability and content effectiveness by collaborating with category management, analytics, and research teams to evaluate site satisfaction and sales performance, form and make recommendations for site refinements, and implement go-forward tactics
- Partner with team to develop and execute rigorous testing (e.g. A/B) of on-site merchandising programs and new ideas that assist in customer understanding of product and service offerings and improve the user interface, to optimize satisfaction, conversion, and average order value
- Work with IT to ensure any technical issues or production needs are addressed in timely fashion
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Three years of experience in a merchandising capacity or related experience
- Experience with B2C retail and fashion/accessories is a plus
- Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
- Strong understanding of branding and the customer experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Detail oriented, highly organized, proactive, able to work independently while also contributing to team effort
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in performing job duties
