Job Description Overview The Cost Accounting Manager leads activities for product costing and product manufacturing analysis for both self-manufacturing facilities and contract manufacturers. Recommends areas of opportunity to drive cost savings across all platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Analyze actual manufacturing costs and summarize data for reporting comparing against the budgeted plan and versus year ago.
- Lead Vertical and Horizontal analysis of plant costs across 9 U.S. plants. Liaison with all plant controllers to track savings and headwinds.
- Track all productivity cost savings projects and prepare required monthly reporting package.
- Analyze PPV reports and work with the purchasing and co-pack management teams to understand variances and identify opportunities.
- Estimates costs for new products or customers.
- Support Dir. of Supply Chain Finance in management of key performance indicators, metrics, and scorecards for suppliers manufacturing, distribution, and warehousing.
- Performs financial analyses as needed.
- Assists with other projects, as needed.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Accounting with emphasis in Cost Accounting or Supply Chain.
- Minimum five years' experience in Cost Analysis/Accounting in a food manufacturing environment or related role.
- Previous experience as a plant controller in a FMCPG environment.
- Multi-plant manufacturing responsibility is highly desirable.
- APICS certification a plus.
- Advanced computer and database management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel. Hyperion Essbase experience a plus.
- Experience in enterprise resource planning or manufacturing resource planning systems.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet constant deadline with strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
- Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
- Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
- Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast paced environment.
