About the role The Transportation Manager is responsible for the leadership and direction of the transportation activities within a Region to achieve cost and service goals in alignment with the Company's NA transportation strategy. The Transportation Manager also leads efforts to establish competitive freight rates and effective carrier utilization for RB North America.
Key Responsibilities - Manage strategic and operational transportation activities within North America to achieve cost and service goals, that are in alignment of company-wide transportation objectives.
- Responsible for the transportation for the Region including distribution centers, manufacturing plants and co-packer network.
- Manage transportation activities to achieve cost and service goals that are in alignment of company-wide transportation objectives.
- Responsible to creating operational and financial KPI's and investigating variances to forecast and plan.
- Manage End of Month carrier support and processes to ensure carriers perform and RB achieves end of month goals.
- Work with procurement to establish competitive freight rates for North America
- Responsible for improve the efficiency of the shipments by improving the truck utilization and the transportation mode.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service Managers to develop multi-functional plans that improve service, cost effectiveness, and customer satisfaction throughout the Region.
- Develop and execute improvement plans that support Reckitt Benckiser market place objectives and optimize supply chain performance.
- Control carrier performances including service and cost, reliability and responsiveness, carrier loss and damage claims.
- Collaborate and provide strategic carrier vision to the transportation 3PL.
- Lead multi-site efforts to achieve service and transportation management goals through continuous improvement projects in cooperation with the Regional Center, other Logistics resources, Manufacturing, and 3PL's.
- Lead transportation cost improvement projects.
Qualifications - Organized: You manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment to deliver on time and in full.
- Self-Starter: You take initiative, practice good judgment and can work independently.
- Influencer: You can work with different stakeholders and gain their buy in on newly created processes through leveraging your leadership and motivational skills.
- Supply Chain Professional: Minimum of 6 years Management experience in Transportation, Distribution or another related field. You have experience negotiating with Transportation service providers.
- College graduate: You have a B.S. In Supply Chain Management, Business Degree, Engineering or relevant degree.
