As the medical manager for the Care Teams, this position is primarily responsible for all medical services, care pathways and overall medical quality related aspects of pre and post-operative patient care across the enterprise. The Enterprise Care Team Manager is responsible for developing medical processes and providing leadership to support the patientsearance for surgery prior to arrival and for follow up care after surgery. This Manager also monitors metrics based on tiering, and clearing patients for surgery.
Essential Functions - Duties & Responsibilities
- Directly manages the Corporate Care Team: PSRs, Imaging Specialist, Paperwork Specialists and overflow RNs.
- Indirectly oversees the Tampa Care Team and works in conjunction with the Executive Director of Tampa to ensure policy, process, staffing, training, and Care Team operations are functioning at the highest standards.
- Responsible for the development and performance of each of the site specific Care Teams based on developed medical standards of care applicable to LSI.
- Works closely with the Executive Directors and Care Managers at each site to monitor and maintain high levels of medical care for both pre and post operative patients.
- Monitors the tiering protocols, care pathways, and medical standards to ensure they are appropriate to LSI's patient population and works with medical executive team to update and improve these as needed.
- Helps to provide support and leadership to all members of the Care Team.
- Has direct management duties over the corporate Care Team including the Care Team Managers and PSRs.
- Assists in the recruiting and hiring process based on criteria agreed upon by the site specific Executive Directors and the VP of Administrative Services
- Assists VP of Clinic Operations & VP of Administrative Services in the preparation of proposals and presentations related to the Care Team.
- Handles escalated pre and post operative medical calls for Tampa and acts as a resource to all other sites.
- Monitors the on-call process and ensures calls that are not deemed urgent get handled in the appropriate manner during regurlar business hours, for all sites.
- Assists with peer-to-peer calls for MRIs and other necessary items.
- Assists with building and monitoring metrics for the Care Team from a medical perspective.
- Updates and monitors process for MIS xray review at all facilities to ensure patients that have fusions are followed up on in the appropriate manner.
- Assists in developing the medical plan of care in conjunction with the Surgeons and the Physicians for pre and post operative patients.
- Assists all facilities with coverage and completes overflow calls as needed, determined by volume.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and followed within the teams.
- Sets an example for the Care Management team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and selling skills, and work habits.
- Assists VP of Clinic Operations and site specific Executive Directors in regards to performance standards, compensation plans and coaching for the Care Team members.
- Other non-medical duties and responsibilities as may be required periodically by senior management.
- Responsible for overall medical operations of the Care Teams.
- Responsible for development of training, both initial and periodic, for Care Team RN's and PSR's and to provide insight for the improvement of patient interactions and medical process efficiencies.
- Responsible for the performance and development of the care team by conducting regular counseling to build motivation, increase effeciencies, and ability to connect with patients.
- Provides timely feedback to executive team regarding teamerformance based off of monitoring and tracking of trends.
- Helps develop and monitor training of EHR and CRM for documentation needed in Care Team patient interactions.
- Works with Surgeons to ensure post op care pathways and algorithms are up-to-date and encompass patients needs post operatively.
- Monitors process and metrics for patients requiring second surgeries after they have left the facilities.
- Must be able to troubleshoot escalated patient concerns while facilitating conmmunication between patients and the appropraite support staff.
- Assists in ensuring all patient calls are returned in accordance with the departmental standards of care in addition to assisting with post-operative follow-up phone calls and administrative duties such as scanning, attaching, and completing paperwork for patients.

Required Qualifications: Education: - Associates Degree
- Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience: - 2-5 years experience as a Nurse
- Case Management (Preferred)
License/Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications: Experience: - One year minimum of Laser Spine Institute care team experience. Manager preferred.
