Responsible for providing supervision and oversight for all aspects of: 1) environmental due diligence (i.e., Phase I and II investigations) and to evaluate environmental liabilities associated with property transfers; 2) managing environmental remediation projects to support DP&C capital projects; 3) managing the compliance status of the Site Remediation Program (all MGP and non-MGP Projects, Deed Notices, etc.). This individual will provide environmental technical support for DP&C various environmental regulatory compliance projects from their inception forward throughout their planning, budgeting, development, engineering, construction, startup, certification and property turnover. Supervise environmental professionals and technical staff, including developing performance expectations, providing feedback and preparing employee performance reviews, generating and maintaining the performance metrics (milestones and budget) for projects, interfacing with senior management and regulators, and ensuring support from internal stakeholders (e.g., Electric and Gas Division, Public Affairs, Procurement, Legal, etc.) is adequate to ensure the success of the remediation group.
Requirements: - BS in a related engineering discipline or environmental science.
- 10-15 yearsperience working on environmental remediation projects with at least 5 of those years in the role of Project Manager.
- Must have a minimum of two years of direct experience with conducting and/or supervising environmental due diligence projects that include the identification of potential environmental liabilities and the estimation of potential environmental remediation costs.
- Must be highly organized and proficient with database management software (e.g., EXCEL).
- Knowledgeable of State (NJDEP) and Federal (EPA) environmental remediation regulatory requirements.
- Knowledgeable of American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) due diligence protocols.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, negotiating and contract management skills, conflict management skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and estimating environmental compliance liabilities.
- Knowledgeable of OSHA construction safety standards.
Because the job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid drivericense with a safe and satisfactory driver history. * Must foster an inclusive work environment and respects all aspects of diversity.
- Must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches, and personal choices.
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid 40-hour OSHA HZWOPPER certification with current 8-hour refresher training.
Desired: - Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Note that the PMP certification will be required within one-year of hire.
- Construction Health and Safety Technician certification and/or related OSHA construction safety training.
- Experience in the gas and electric utility industry is a plus.
