POSITION SUMMARY Manager, Claims Operations will be responsible for leadership of claims operations staff in the processing of Comp (A&H) and Life Final Expense claims. This position will report to the Director, Claims Experience and will be tasked with day-to-day management of these units, while implementing process and system enhancements to optimize accuracy and efficiency.
Fundamental Components:
Day-to-day leadership and direction of Claims operations staff
Development and monitoring of daily / weekly / monthly reporting & metrics
Mentoring and support of Team Lead and SME staff to enhance leadership skills & staff competency
Identification of workflow process and system enhancement opportunities
Management of HR related functions: Time-sheet approvals, Time-off requests, Quarterly &/or Annual performance reviews, etc
Interaction with other Operational & IT leaders to optimize interdepartmental processing, accuracy, and efficiency
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Minimum 1 year experience in a Supervisory level position in a Claims / Audit / Customer Service operational role. (Previous Managerial-level experience a plus)
Previous experience in the Insurance &/or Healthcare claims processing / Call-Center environments highly preferred. (Focus on A&H and/or LIFE insurance a plus)
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and develop cohesive operational units
Previous experience implementing processing and system enhancements to optimize efficiency
EDUCATION The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
