Working Title: Supervisor, Intelligence & Analytical Support

Position located in Central Office in the Office of Intelligence - Tallahassee, FL (Leon County)

Salary Rate: $70.000.00- $79,800.24

Under the direction of Secretary, Julie Jones, the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is the 3rd largest state prison system in the country with a budget of 2.4 billion, approximately 97,000 inmates incarcerated and another 167,000 offenders on active community supervision. The FDC has 151 facilities and more than 24,000 staff members statewide, making it the Stateargest agency.

Description:

This position is located in the Office of Intelligence. The incumbent in this position will assist the Director of Intelligence in developing a cohesive and comprehensive statewide plan for intelligence. This includes providing leadership and direction overseeing the Crime Intelligence and Analytical Support functions. Coordinates with the state, regional recognized fusion centers in Florida for the creation and dissemination of intelligence to appropriate parties both within Florida and nationally. Specific responsibilities of the Operations Manager-C will include but not limited to: providing leadership and guidance within the Office of Intelligence, coordinating and enhancing the productivity of the Office of Intelligence with organizational planning and communication with the department, state, and law enforcement community. Furthermore, the incumbent will coordinate the completion of crime or issue specific intelligence assessments for publication to FDC leadership, elected officials, media, law enforcement, private industry, criminal justice community or public and private industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
• Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
• Knowledge of department policies and procedures;
• Ability to supervise people;
• Ability to manage a consultative program designed to ensure the resolution of managerial and operational problems;
• Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other materials
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Ability to work independently or on a team;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Research Methods or closely related field from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience in intelligence, criminal justice analytics, corrections or law enforcement leadership; OR
• 6 years of experience in intelligence, criminal justice analytics, corrections or law enforcement leadership;
• Minimum one (1) year experience in a supervisory position in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation or intelligence.
