JOB TITLE: AREA HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
REPORTS TO: REGIONAL HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, manage, and coordinate human resource activities for a group of facilities to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources preferred, or equivalent experience;
- Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in Human Resources or related field;
- Knowledge of HR related concepts, regulations, basic employment law, etc., as evidenced by PHR/SPHR certification (preferred) or able to obtain within 1 year of employment;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with impeccable attention to detail;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) products, as well as Internet savvy;
- Excellent organizational, time management and telephone etiquette skills;
- Organized and professional demeanor;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Responsible for ensuring assigned facility payroll is accurate and processed in a timely manner, meeting all established organizational deadlines;
- Creates and posts requisitions within the applicant tracking system (ATS), and other job boards;
- Assists Operations in determining staffing needs through weekly reports and meetings, completes all necessary employment verification prior to new hire start date;
- Assists with creating offer and promotion letters, coordinate transfer process with internal transfers;
- Oversees adherence to EEOC and affirmative action programs and diversity goals set by the organization;
- Oversees training and safety programs in context of compliance with State and Federal regulations;
- Provides current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits;
- Reviews terminations and exercises care that reasons are well documented, not arbitrary or discriminatory, and submits to Regional HR Manager for approval prior to involuntary terminations;
- Conduct exit interviews with all voluntary separations;
- Prepare analysis of separation reasons to determine trends and action items; submit monthly to Regional HR Manager;
- Advises managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes;
- Serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions and helping to resolve work-related problems; assists with employee relation matters on an as-needed basis and escalates to Regional Human Resources Manager as needed;
- Works closely with Regional Human Resources Manager on HR-related issues and assisting with disciplinary actions, as needed;
- Oversees maintenance of accurate and complete personnel records; ensures that rules concerning confidentiality and retention are followed;
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards organizational objectives;
- Ensures all employee paperwork and documentation are complete, accurate and secure;
- Assist with various HR related projects;
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

- Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene, and other work duties as assigned;
