Job Summary (General Responsibilities):
Responsible for product development and project management of New Product Introductions for Smart Phone, Tablet and Laptop accessory solutions from ideation to production; including the specific product mix, product families, and ongoing evaluation of products to be added, enhanced, refined, developed or eliminated.
Responsible for charting and providing technology vision and road map thru strong collaboration with industry partners, technology consortiums and solution providers.
As a Product Development Manager you will be responsible for defining and driving the schedule, cost, and quality for your products to service business objectives. You will lead multiple small, mid and large programs from concept through First Customer Ship, following Belkinroduct Development processes. The job involves the creation finalization of product requirements and project schedule, frequent interaction with internal cross-functional team members, division executive staff members, partners and vendors, finance, marketing, sales organization and occasionally, end customers. The work scope will include, but is not limited to, resource and staff assignment, management of the project planning, execution, and test activities, product introduction, and post product delivery support. You will possess the ability to lead collaborative decision-making, provide direction and establish a big sense of urgency in the cross functional teams. Must be able to objectively evaluate risks to project objectives and be comfortable making difficult decisions, as well as dealing with a certain degree of ambiguity and is capable of making sound business decisions with minimal guidance.
Ensure that the assigned product line/s is/are recognized as the best line by resellers and end users in the industry for value, quality, selection, innovation, features, reliability and ease of use.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Anticipate technology trends and changes to remain above competitors
- Consistently update and evangelize technology roadmap, emerging technologies and material trends.
- Cultivate relationships with industry partners, consortiums, manufacturing partners and solutions providers to ensure that Belkin stays on top of industry and technology trends.
- Partner with GPM team to translate Consumer Insights, sales data, regional/specific store needs into PRDroduct Briefs.
- Lead cross functional teams thru the entire product development cycle and all gates from concept to product specifications to commercialization/post launch, ensuring that all details are in compliance with Belkin standards.
- Lead and coordinate development projects by aligning with Global PM team, Global Supply Chain, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, IDG and vendors to determine product requirements, product development schedules, budget and cost targets, resource assignments, risk mitigation plan, testing plan, other execution plan, all other functional responsibilities and ensure they are met.
- Responsible for the creation of a PRD (product requirement document) format that serves cross functional team needs. Determine product specifications and features of assigned products.
- Provide weekly status report of projects managed, escalation path, contingency plans to ensure that stake holders and cross functional teams are informed and DRIs are held accountable.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple concurrent projects (usually at different stages of the life cycle)
- Manage projects involving cross-functional disciplines of Design, Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Finance in a matrix management organization.
- Deliver projects under budget, resource and time constraints established in the project plan.
- Create risk management list and contingency plans. Decide upon and execute contingency plans, when required.
- Report projects status to multi-tiered audiences composed of team, peers, directors and executive staff audiences.
- Projects may involve a mix of in-bound OEM/ODM, remote development and support teams, internal development and support teams.
- Manage and work with engineering to conduct thorough, accurate, exhaustive bench testing on competitive products, vendor samples, and defective/returned products.
- Work with China based PDG team to ensure derivative products are in line with original vision.
- Be the voice of reason as well as the product champion.
- Maintain on time and on budget completion of deliverables
- Maintain accountability for accurate and prompt communication of project goals, status, costs and execution to all stakeholders, including a project tracker, FOBtooling costs etc.

Education and Experience Requirements: - Minimum 5 years experience of product development and creation preferably in consumer electronics industry.
- Familiar with basic project management philosophy
- Proven, excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project
- Proficiency in PLM toolkit software (Oraclegile) a plus
- Motivated self-starter with high attention to detail
- Previous experience working in an international organization is a plus
- Curious, driven and respectful
- Bachelor Degree with an engineering concentration or equivalent experience preferred
