Vivint is seeking a Product Manager for our smart support experience. We are working to reinvent how we deliver best in class service to our customers and this role is at the core of it. As part of the Vivint product management team, you will be responsible for defining, driving and shipping Smart Home services and experiences for Vivint customers.
The Product Manager drives complex projects from idea to concept and prototyping through development and delivery. The successful candidate must be able to find the intersection of consumer needs, technical feasibility, and business objectives, and then lead a cross-functional team to deliver against the opportunity.
You will partner with stakeholders to gather product feedback, prioritize work and ensure alignment. The successful candidate will create detailed product requirements and work closely with Design, Engineering, QA and stakeholder teams to build and deliver the product.
What you will do: - Understand and contribute to the product vision and roadmap
- Write clear and concise user stories and requirements, prioritizing development items to align with the product roadmap
- Manage releases to ensure delivery, coordinating milestones across teams
- Work closely with cross-functional teams of designers, engineers and QA to ensure delivery against product roadmap
- Build and maintain relationships across organizations, with teams, and individuals
- Monitor product performance and proactively identify opportunities for product improvements
- Identify opportunities for usability testing and drive execution, measuring and report results
- Identify risks, issues, and problems and escalate as appropriate, proposing mitigation plans to overcome obstacles
- Partner with the GTM team to prepare operations, marketing, sales, supply chain, and support product channels for launch
- Pursue product and industry knowledge, identify trends and opportunities, and become a subject matter expert on designated products
- Own and manage partner relationships for specific engagements
Who you are and what you have:
- Ability to lead by influence
- Effective problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills
- High degree of familiarity with standard Project Management tools: Jira, MS Project, Tableau, Excel, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage priorities, including multiple products
- Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to clearly communicate across levels of the organization and departments in writing, orally and interpersonally
- Decisive, and able to eloquently defend your decisions
What we're looking for: - 2 years of relevant work experience in consumer electronics, gaming, software or hardware products
- Conversant in the technical aspects of building software and/or hardware products (i.e. technical information, techniques, and architectures)
- Show deep commitment to and empathy for the consumer
- Works well with others to support shared goals
- Willingness to learn
- Open minded and positive attitude
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Design, Business or a related field
- Experience with iOS and/or Android desired but not required
