Job Description Workday Total Rewards are feature rich, high performing applications that our enterprise-class customers rely on to manage their employees' compensation and benefits. As a performance engineer you will be expected to debug, measure, analyze, and improve our application software. You will work closely with the application development teams as well as our Tools development and performance engineering teams to ensure that our applications continue to meet or exceed our customersmands for performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities - Drive architecture discussions, performance optimizations and leading to end to end performance improvements
- Deliver measurable improvements in performance and efficiency and/or engineering's ability to identify performance issues in advance
- Distill large amounts of data to analyze and diagnose performance problems and recommend or implement solutions using internally developed tools and third-party tools
- Create custom tools and data as necessary to automate performance testing, and support the use of these tools by other teams
- Provide technical leadership, training, and mentoring to the Application Development Team
- Work with Product Management, Development, and QA to define meaningful performance metrics for product testing, scaling, and sizing
- Review test plans and results analysis for product deployments
- Provide visualization that assists in identifying bottlenecks or areas for performance improvement
Minimum Requirements - Experience in benchmark testing, performance analysis, and tuning with experience developing software benchmarks
- 3+ years of enterprise software development experience
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Outstanding attention to detail and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze / interpret technical data
- Demonstrated ability to identify / resolve performance bottlenecks
- Some OO design and development knowledge
- Working knowledge of Cloud Computing services
- Collaborative team player
