WOOD is hiring Systems Engineer, Level 4 in Ft. Meade, MD
Responsibilities - Define and analyze data requirements, map legacy data stores and formats to enterprise microformats, create new data structures / microformats and perform architectural alignment with the ELDM and other enterprise formats.
- Analytical skills to perform primary research for protocols and technologies and apply them to the enterprise microformat creation and mapping efforts.
- Ability to catch on quickly and be able to use this primary research to comprehend various technologies and apply this knowledge.
- Provide expertise in data harmonization and data modeling activities to support requirements and provide data modeling consulting to help Data Domain stakeholders develop new high quality data models and formats for exchange and storage in an agile fashion.
- Coordinate, meet, and hold Technical Peer Reviews with Subject Matter Authorities and Stakeholder communities to discuss and perform requirements and impact analysis to understand the data elements in their domains, relationships among those elements and interdependencies between models.
- Develop and maintain domain logical data model artifacts: Logical Data Models (LDM), Data Element Dictionaries (DED), Physical Data Models (PDM), Interface Control Documents (ICD), data format specifications, model release documentation, user guides, data harmonization and mappings.
Qualifications *All Candidates must have a TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
Individual Capabilities Required:
- Ten (10) years' systems engineering experience supporting DoD/IC programs.
- Bacheloregree or higher in Engineering (Communications, Computer, or Electrical), Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or similar degree and meets the experience requirements, or equivalent documented combination of training and experience.
- A Master's degree in a qualifying engineering field may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, thereby reducing the requirement to eight (8) years of experience
- Extensive working knowledge and practical use of data modeling and mapping techniques.
- Experience with customer legacy data formats.
- Experience with Unified Modeling Language (UML) and XML technologies (XSDs and schemas, and XML generation), ontologies, and semantics.
- Possess great analytical and communication skills.
Individual Capabilities Desired:
- Knowledge and use of Enterprise data formats.
- Solid understanding of computer hardware, operating system software, firmware and network architecture.
- Data Modeling techniques including Resource Description Framework (RDF) Schema (RDFS) and OWL based technologies.
- Experience using Sybase PowerDesigner is a plus, as well as knowledge of the ELDM, but not required.
- Possessing a working knowledge in CNO/CNE, cyber ops and/or cyber defense is a plus.
- Superior interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of customers.
