We're looking for engineers to join the Azure Container Service team in building internal services that enable numerous Microsoft product and engineering teams to use technologies like Kubernetes on the Microsoft Azure platform.

As Senior Engineer, you'll work as part of a lean and agile development team building a net new service within Microsoft Azure. As a leader on our engineering team, you'll focus on enabling early adopters of cloud-native technology teams within Azure who in turn serve high impact organizations (enterprises, startups, and academic institutions). Our team develops cloud-native products and services such as Azure Container Instances and AKS, our managed Kubernetes service. We work closely in numerous OSS communities and are core contributors to the Kubernetes project.

Core Qualifications:

· 5+ years of software development experience on product engineering teams

· Experience with and enjoyment of lean and agile development methodologies (iterative development, MVPs, etc.).

· Strong experience in the Go programming language including testing

· Familiarity with open source and experience using OSS in projects

· Experience with containers and container orchestrators such as Kubernetes

· Great communication skills with ability to break big ideas into smaller, discrete ones

· Can make tradeoffs between technical purity and pragmatic needs

· Experience designing clean, scalable RESTful APIs

· Desire to mentor and coach other software engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

· Comfort at CLI

· Experience with infrastructure tools like Terraform, Ansible, acs-engine, etc.

· Can lead project planning and collaborate with the product owner to build a high confidence delivery plan for each planning cycle

· Experience leading a team of talented/motivated developers and a proven ability to mentor and support the growth of others
