DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: DUTIES: Work on cross-functional team projects to successfully design and develop innovative textile product solutions for commercial customer applications. Successfully deliver differentiated, profitable product concepts that add value to the customer. Revise objectives and work plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Work closely with Global Sales and Product Management groups to clearly understand market and application requirements, as well as regional and cultural influences on product and process designs. Participate in customer visits to ensure successful value-added solutions. Translate customer needs into innovative new product designs. Assist with estimating resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Proactively understand and adjust to project scope changes, potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Develop business relationships vital to the success of the project. Contribute to new product development by selecting and/or developing materials and processes to be used for new product design. Drive process development, to rapidly deliver product concepts into commercial production. Ensure proper documentation of the concept development stage, including product definition, concept descriptions, lessons learned, Intellectual Property disclosures, and materials specifications. Use engineering databases appropriately. Develop technical literature and presentations to assist new product launches. Reads and correctly interprets industry and customer specifications. Ensure processes are robust before they move to the manufacturing site. Support global technology development activities, by actively participating in idea generation sessions and advanced technology explorations. Stay current on relevant technology advances.

REQUIREMENTS: REQUIREMENTS (applicants with any suitable equivalent combination of education, training, or experience are acceptable): Bachelor's degree in textile engineering required. 2 years of experience as a Textile Engineer or in a related position required. Experience must include textile technology focused on weaving or braiding or knitting; project management; and textile product development.
