Job Description Senior Hardware/Systems Engineer, CEPD Advanced Development HW/SW/Systems Group
Bose Corporation is seeking a talented HW/Systems engineer to join the Advanced Development team in its Consumer Electronics Product Development Group. Responsibilities: - Support Advanced Development (AD) projects as an individual contributor and/or team leader. Focus will be on next-generation technologies, strategies, platforms, products, features, capabilities, and experiences. Also, support as-needed, the current architectures in development.
- Architect, design, and build utilizing custom and off the shelf electronics in support of high performance consumer electronic products.
- Interact with engineers from various disciplines in the use and application of technologies created within AD.
- Assist in or take responsibility for architecting platforms that incorporate power management, Bluetooth devices, WiFi, digital signal processing, sensing and controls for consumer electronic concepts and advanced development.
- Collaborate with our DSP and firmware/software teams in the creation of these prototypes.
- Specify and/or author firmware for our prototype systems which include DSPmicrocontrollers and custom IC/li>
Skills and Experience: - Team player.
- Engineering background and experience:
- Electrical analog/digital/system hardware design fundamentals, including single, multi-processor systems, and FPGA/li>
- Experience with inter-device communication protocols such as USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, WiFi, I2C, I2S, TDM, SPI, MIPI.
- System architecture experience.
- Working with outside technology partners.
- Converting concepts into technical requirements and the associated system level tradeoffs.
- Experience working in cross functional groups.
- Experience with audio, DSP, and wireless systems.
- Experience in creating and architecting firmware code for embedded devices and Verilog or VHDL for FPGA/li>
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to concisely explain complex issues to non-experts.
- Desirable experience:
- Some experience in the application of mixed-signal circuits.
- Some experience in the application of power management for small and medium sized designs
- Platforming for consumer electronics.
Education: BS in Engineering required, MS in Engineering preferred.
Engineering Experience: At least 10 years of experience.
Team Leadership Experience: Experience in leading small engineering teams is a plus
