Position Summary: We are looking for a Development Engineer for our strategic DNS project. The goal of the project is to consolidate existing DNS products while simultaneously enhancing and maintaining our DNS infrastructure and creating a common API enabling automation.
Position Requirements: Experience and Education (minimums)
- Bacheloregree in Computer Science or Equivalent.
- Experience working with distributed development teams
- 3-5 years experience with most of the following technologies:
- C, C++
- SCM tools (Git, Jenkins)
- Web services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.)
- RDBMS (MySQL, etc)
- Modern web frameworks
- Python
- Perl
- Java and Java application servers
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Plus Experience and/or Skills
- Masteregree
- 5+ years engineering related experience in Content Delivery and/or distributed systems software
- Experience working in a software development organization which provides network or software services to end customers
- Experience working collaboratively with operations support teams
- Experience working on production critical items to support tier 1-3 support organizations when necessary
- Implemented infrastructure and extensive use of unit test automation
- Understanding of network protocols, performance, and optimizations.
- Working knowledge of DevOps principles (automation from development through production)
- Experience with Agile Methodology, SCRUM and JIRA in an integrated delivery environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities - Experience with various HTTP related technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in particular when interacting with peers in QA and engineering
- Ability to work effectively with distributed development teams
- Highly proficient in UNIX/Linux, FeeBSD and Ubuntu/CentOS valued
- Excellent troubleshooting skills; ability to investigate and fix application problems
- Experience developing in C, Go, or Python
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, etc.)
