Overview / Responsibilities Wood is seeking a Senior-Level Construction Engineer to join our dynamic team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have a background in HVAC design, energy efficiency, good communication skills and the ability to work with a group of experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities Work on technical assignments (both within field and office settings) and support HVAC design and energy related projects
Field assignments are local, national and international depending on technical capabilities and desire to travel - Overnight travel is estimated to be about 15%
The engineer in this position will be responsible for construction engineering associated with large HVAC projects
Typical team assignments will include assignment to multiple construction HVAC retrofit projects, and interfacing with clients, project manager, construction manager, and all subcontractors
Project cost estimation during engineering design, and during construction i.e. construction modifications
Strong commitment to companyafety program; follow company safety standards, site safety standards and maintain safe workplace practices
Skills / Qualifications Bachelors in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, construction management, or a 4- year degree in an associated field
Preference for either a Professional Engineer (PE chanical) or Certified Mechanical Contractor (CMC) licensee in any US State or Territory
Demonstrated 10-20 yearsperience in construction of HVAC systems
Valid driver's license
Flexibility to work and travel outside normal business hours as required
Construction background to include processing mechanical submittals and RFIs, preparation of technical site visit reports, prepare meeting minutes, generation of a project punch list, and sign -off on final mechanical and controls
Ability to create a construction schedule in Microsoft Projects, Primavera or similar software
Basic understanding of controls to support writing sequences of operation; Basic understanding of controls instrumentation hardware knowledge is a plus
Strong understanding of building and NFPA codes, and ASHRAE standards
Desire for continuous learning and ability to learn quickly on the job
Must be computer proficient with working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the companyriving (MVR) policy
High receptivity to mentoring, learning and sharing of work knowledge for the benefit of the team
