Sales Engineer
SGS is looking for an experienced, bright and energetic sales engineer to add to our growing team in our Taylor, MI transportation testing laboratory.

As a sales engineer, you will be the primary customer contact from a pre-sales perspective, assisting clients with technical aspects of their test program and preparing accurate statements of work and proposals. This role will encompass a variety of duties aimed at managing current client relationships, as well as developing new business from existing clients.
These duties include:
- Learn the technical aspects of our unique testing services.
- Communicating and interacting directly with clients (in person and through phone and email).
- Timely response to questions and inquiries.
- Manage expectations and delivering a positive customer experience.
- Pursue each outstanding client need (open quotations, service requests, etc.) until closed.
- Gather requirements in order to gain an understanding of needs.
- Work with client and internal engineering teams to assist in scoping of testing programs.
- Prepare technical proposals.
- Assist with test plans, schedules, communications and proposal / contract documentation.
- Create and facilitate client presentations and site/lab tours.
- Maintain information in sales database (CRM).
- Leverage relationships to identify additional service needs.
- Participate in regularly scheduled sales and operations meetings.
- Perform client and industry research.
- Attend/participate/network in industry events/meetings and trade shows.
- Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers.
- Work with diverse and dispersed teams (engineering, operations, sales, clients).

Education / Experience:
- Engineers or Technical Sales Professionals with prior experience in vibration testing utilizing electrodynamic shaker systems or in a similar product/component testing environment are desired.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a testing environment in engineering, operations or sales/business development.
- University Undergraduate or Graduate degree in an applicable Engineering discipline preferred.
- Demonstrate successful completion of business courses within the degree program.
- Experience dealing with customers in a service capacity
Reporting to: - Local Sales Management.
