Job Title Staff Android Engineer
Position Summary You can write Android apps at a number of companies, but the opportunity to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of people is a rare one. Here in the Omnichannel team at WalmartLabs, we build the tools that bring the experience of shopping in our stores on par with (and make it even better than) the experience of shopping online. Yes, finding a pair of shoe laces in a huge store can be challenging or the lines at a cash register can be too long. But, these are all opportunities that can be addressed with cool technology solutions, often involving mobile apps. That is our focus. If you are as passionate as we are about enhancing real-world experiences through the use of technology, get in touch!
We are a nimble team and we operate like a startup in a large company. We control our product roadmap and development cycles. Most of us have worked at startups before. We are product focused and expect our fellow engineers to be involved in all parts of the product development from product requirements and design to implementation and testing. Our products include Walmart Pay, Scan & Go, Store Pickup, Savings Catcher, and more. We are data-driven. We constantly improve our products based on user data and feedback. Moreover, we experiment with new features and technologies and scale successful products rapidly. Our work includes challenges in the areas of security, geolocation, payments, scalability and architecture.
