The Senior Systems Test Engineer participates in the test planning, test development and test execution of Microbiology laboratory instruments and software systems. The candidate will design, develop, and execute test plans and procedures, implement innovative and effective test designs while assuring appropriate test coverage, and participate in identifying opportunities for continuous testing improvements. The Senior Systems Test Engineer will work with the Systems Integration group and other functional teams to ensure that verification and validation goals are achieved. The candidate may be responsible for all aspects of the verification and validation phases of the product development life cycle. The candidate may also be responsible for investigating system issues and successfully determining root cause. May lead and/or participates on multi-functional product research and development teams.
Design, development, and execution of test plans and test cases, and creation of test summary reports.
Preparation of appropriate documentation as required by internal quality system and regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA, ISO).
Support of project activities such as planning, scheduling, and risk management.
Participation in technical decisions affecting product modules and/or subsystems, including functional specifications, technical reviews, and source code inspections.
Investigation of software, hardware, and system problems using a variety of testing techniques.
Support and troubleshooting of test framework and environments.
Development and/or use of software test tools, which may include automated test tools (e.g.TestComplete).
Participation in ideation, implementation, and sustainment of departmental process improvements.
Collaboration with distributed, cross-functional teams to develop appropriate test procedures and determine root causes for failures.
May represent Systems Integration as a core team member on cross functional projects.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bacheloregree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of related experience OR Masteregree in field with 3+ years of experience.
Experience with test design, test execution, test environment configuration, and test reporting.
Experience with tools for test planning, test execution, defect management, and requirements management (HP-ALM, Doors, Requisite Pro, or equivalent). Experience with HP-ALM is highly preferable. Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills. Ability to work with cross-functional and remote teams.
Desired Qualifications: Experience with product development lifecycle in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO). Experience with medical device design and development.
Experience with configuring/supporting networked test configurations. Familiarity with development and support of automated test methods and tools. Experience in a microbiology/clinical laboratory.
