Job Description Job Summary: Provides technical and sustaining engineering support of a product(s) manufacturing area. Establishes operating equipment/tooling requirements, improves manufacturing techniques, processes and production yields to improve production efficiencies. Interacts with product design, development personnel and/or Manufacturing Engineers to ensure that processes and designs are compatible.
Duties and Responsibilities: Review data and provide support engineering direction based on data analysis. Support introduction and development of new products Supports "Lean" initiatives and protocols including 5S. Support Tool Design & implementation, as needed General Assembly support activities to include:
- Support on-going (daily) production products and processes (cells/lines) as required.
- Review and update assembly instructions and travelers to insure ISO compliance.
- Works with production personnel to assist with training and techniques.
- Works to ensure ESD protocols are in-place and followed.
- Support required documentation for travelers and computer WIP tracking. o Initiate disposition and rework of non-conforming product or materials.
- Report on manufacturing metrics.
Core Competencies: - Attention to Detail quired defining explicit process assembly instructions for the manufacture of sophisticated IR camera systems.
- Communication Skills-Oral, Listening & Written - required to communicate effectively with Assembly and Test personnel to both develop and optimize the necessary camera assembly process.
- Continuous Learning quired to stay abreast of new electronic and mechanical assembly techniques and processes defined both by internal design and external customer requirements.
- Decision Making & Problem Solving quired to effectively and efficiently respond to ever changing productions requirements, quality issues, and process demands.
- Flexibility quired to handle the often multi-tasked manufacturing environment where multiple hats (Engineer, Inspector, Doc Control, Tool Designer, Assembler, etc) are required on a daily basis.
- Initiative quired to take the lead on all aspects of the job requirements, with minimal supervision and maximum efficiency
Knowledge and Experience in the following required:
- Understanding manufacturing and processing operations
- Microelectronic assembly
- Basic computer skills -Excel & Word o Able to read & work to manufacturing documentation
- Able to read and write in English
- Experience with the use of:
- Handling ESD sensitive hardware
- Basic use of metrology equipment
- Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status
Knowledge and Experience in the following Desired:
- CAD skills
- Basic knowledge of high-volume manufacturing techniques (throughput and cycle time analysis).
Education and Experience: - 2-4 yearsperience in a manufacturing environment
- BS degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
