Centuria Corporation is seeking severalSoftware Engineer V to support The Advance Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) in Silver Spring, MD.
The Software Engineer V shall be responsible for technical design, development, and implementation of large projects and/or major software products and systems. Assists in defining architecture requirements and establishing standards for design and development. Consults with management and customers regarding product feasibility and viability of product plans and designs. Factors emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation.
Qualifications: - B.S. in a STEM related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Serves as primary technical resource to development team.
- May act as team leader in prioritizing group tasks, determining individual assignments, and reviewing work of lower-level developers.
- Provides product demonstrations and participates in trade shows, seminars, industry panels, and user group meetings.
- Interacts with customers regarding strategies, requirements, problem solving, and support.
