As a key member of the Jackson Network Services department, the Network Engineer will have direct impact on the operations of the network. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Senior Network Engineers, and other team members to support daily operations of the network.
- Provides network and solution engineering, under the direction of the Principal Architect.
- Collaborates with other Jackson technical teams for weekly changes and new initiatives.
- Supports and updates network standards ocedures, visio diagrams for the team.
- Ensures network monitoring systems are kept up to date and configured properly.
- Troubleshoots and resolves small to medium complexity network issues.
- Works on small projects from start to finish in accordance with department processes.
- Participates in rotating on-call operational support.

Qualifications Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Ability to script and program in Perl, Python, C++ or other.
- Network Management tools config and operations (Solarwinds, Opensource tools, other).
- Knowledge and experience with routing and switching technology (Cisco or other).
- Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Knowledge and experience with IP addressing IPv4 or IPv6.
- Knowledge and experience creating scripts or programs to mine data, automate tasks or other.
- Knowledge and experience with Wireless technology (Cisco or other).
- Knowledge and experience with Firewall technology (Checkpoint, Cisco or other).
- Knowledge and experience with DNS and DHCP and IP Address Mgt technologies.
- Knowledge and experience with network traffic monitoring and analysis (Wireshark, tcpdump).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with running small projects.
- Good relationship management and negotiation skills
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to make effective decisions quickly with limited information.
- Familiar with standard IT processes (ITIL or other) for Incident, Change, Problem management.
- Working experience with MS-Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
Education and Experience Required - Bacheloregree in Computer science, Engineering or related technical field and/or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of technical experience with the above qualifications.
Certifications
- ITILV3 (preferred)
- CCNA (preferred)
