For over 20 years, the team at FlowJo, has contributed to critical advances in medicine and life science through our flagship software FlowJo®, a powerful and user-friendly analysis program for single-cell flow cytometry analysis. Flow cytometry is a critical tool used to advance our diagnosis and understanding of disease states including cancer, HIV, and infectious diseases.
We are currently seeking a Junior Front End Web Engineer to build single-page web, and desktop Electron applications. The Junior Front End Engineer works within our Special Projects Division and collaborates with Engineering, Marketing, and field scientist teams to help develop the research cloud collaboration and informatics platform. The Research Cloud (FlowJo Envoy) is a single-page web application that monitors real-time progress of projects and experiments right down to the individual experiment steps with the feel of a desktop application.

RESPONSIBILITIES: - Develop features across multiple subsystems within our applications, including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing and deployment.
- Understand how our applications operate, are structured, and how customers use them.
- Provide engineering support (when necessary) to our technical support staff when they are building, deploying, configuring and supporting systems for customers.
- Participate with the engineering and operations teams to define plans for standardizing, scaling and enhancing our products and the services utilized to deploy/install/release those products.
- Participate in interactions with customers as a technical expert for product subsystems.
- Investigate, analyze and make recommendations to management regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications.
- Other duties from time to time as determined by management.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: - Experience with web application development
- Experience developing reusable frontend components
- Familiarity with developing desktop applications in Electron
- HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Typescript
- JavaScript libraries: React, Redux, Node.js
- Test frameworks: Mocha, Chai, and Enzyme
- Tooling: Webpack, Yeoman
- API-driven single-page application design
- Strong communication and analytical skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with Windows, OS X, and Linux environments
- Experience working in a team environment
- Available onsite during regular business hours
EDUCATION: - BS in Computer Science or related degree preferred.
