We have an immediate opening for a Software Design Engineer with a background in user experience and app development. In this role you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and perfecting the UX experience that will transform how user interact with Windows. You'll work closely with teammates to design and implement the cross-device experience on every Windows device. A perfect fit in this environment, requires you to be: Flexible. Self-motivated. Responsibilities: - Development of cross device experiences.
- Work in close partnership with a team of diverse and talented peers in various disciplines including design, usability, PM and quality engineers for sustained long-term success.
- Partner with the architects and the technical leadership team to deliver solid technical designs.
- Own costing for your engineering activities and execute with high accountability to schedule and quality.
- Participate actively in detailed design, code reviews, issue triage with the feature team.
- Maintain an unwavering focus on our customers and the value you can deliver to them.
Successful candidates must have:
- 2+ years of relevant software design and development experience preferably on shipped consumer products or platforms.
- 2+ Experience writing performance critical code in C/C++.
- Experience with UI Frameworks such as XAML, WPF, Silverlight, Win32, or similar.
- Experience with Common Control libraries for the above.
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Outstanding technical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent coding and debugging skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Deep native development skills in C++ design and coding, with strong debugging skills.
- Reasonable working knowledge of 3d mathematics, or an aptitude to learn.
- Successful candidates should have one or more of the following: Experience with WinRT, Windows, Hololens, Windows Phone, or Xbox.
- Background in user experience, system UI or app development
