In this role, you would be developing and improving manufacturing methods, optimizing product performance and reduce manufacturing costs in a systematic fashion by leading and supporting projects.
A Day in the Life
You will be part of a team that
- meets or exceed Manufacturing goals and objectives.
- develops and implements process and product improvements.
- determines specific requirements of manufacturing operation in order to specify equipment, fixturing and process parameters.
- develops plans to evaluate process repeatability and stability through equipment qualification and process validation.
- participates in continuous improvement and cost analysis. Deploy Lean 6 Sigma methodology to identify, evaluate and implement opportunities for improvement in manufacturing processes.
- performs detailed cost analysis of manufacturing changes.
- Production Support and Trouble Shooting - Provide engineering support to manufacturing operation. Insure no negative impact on customer service and minimize downtime. Perform investigation, disposition and corrective action for production issues through the quality system procedures. (NCMR & CAPA)
- assista in the development and optimizing of Work Design, Manufacturing Layout and Product Flow. Define and generate all required documentation in support of manufacturing protocols, reports, manufacturing instruction and procedures.
- Develop, qualify, validate and implement manufacturing equipment and processes for new products, new processes and new equipment. Partner with cross-functional teams as required.
- utilize statistical methods to support engineering testing.
- ensures Manufacturing processes meet cost and yield targets.
- compares internal yield/external complaint failure model with the process FMEA and accurately assess quality impact.
- author and perform Design of Experiments (DOE).
- manage and develop talent of direct reports.
Must Haves - Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline
- 2+ years of increasingly complex engineering responsibilities.
Nice to Have - Master's Degree
- 2+ years experience in an ISO13485/GMP environment preferred.
- Engineering experience with disposable medical devices also preferred.
- Six Sigma, Constraint Management and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES - Team dynamic skills (communication, accountability, decision-making, feedback, meeting management, managing conflict).
- DOE, SPC, FMEA, GMP, QSR
- Complete the Engineer Technical Certification with 2 years of hire.
- Computer literate
- Strong statistical skills (basic and minimal advanced statistics)
- Knowledge of statistical software.
- Technical writing skills
- Verbal, written and presentation skills
- Knowledge of materials and related processes.
- ElectroMechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Project management experience
