About the role: Due to an internal promotion, we are currently seeking a Specialist Process Engineer to be based in our Brisbane office, with extensive site travel (approx. 3 days per week).
Reporting to the Director Process Engineering, the scope of your role will be to support site operations optimise the processing performance of Peabody's CHPP's across our Australian platform. Peabody's process engineering team are actively involved in driving production improvements through innovation and are currently implementing a range of new technologies.
Duties will include: - Production operational support. Reviews site processing performance data, identifies solutions to actual or forecast areas of production loss against target KPIs. Interacts with site operations to define, resource and expedite
- Plant throughput optimisation. Identifies improvement opportunities, defines and manages plantsting and pilot scale trials, quantifies benefits and motivates resourcing.
- Project implementation. Contributes to the development and evaluation of the concept phase, defines the process design criteria, and manages the commissioning and performance testing phases of major projects.
- Product recovery optimisation. Applies process simulation tools and specifies plant sampling regimes to identify potential circuit efficiency improvements and quantify proposed flow sheet modifications.
- Production cost optimisation. Maintains an up to date knowledge of plant operating costs, ensures cost implications of changes considered.
- Provides mentoring and process training support to CHPP operators
- Supports the implementation of Peabody CHPP standards
- Supports the development and implementation of emerging processing technologies
- Supports involvement with ACARP
- Visibly supports safety performance
About You: To be successful in this role, it is imperative for you to have extensive operational experience, be technically minded and have a passion for emerging technologies.
- Engineering degree ideally in Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years' experience in mineral comminution, beneficiation and solid/liquid separation technologies
- In plant operational and technical experience
- Process metallurgy and production evaluation skills
- Able to demonstrate a reasonable competence and understanding of:
- Production and maintenance management
- Control systems engineering
- Financial evaluation
- Contract management
- CAPEX development
- Technical presentation and public speaking skills
