Network Engineer III
Summary The Network Engineer III is responsible for maintaining and improving VGTulti-office network infrastructure. The Network Engineer III will work with Cisco technologies and internetworking concepts and protocols and have the opportunity to perform skills beyond network engineering to include telephony. Network engineer IIIre expected to take total ownership of VGT networks; from architecture, design, and documentation through deployment and maintenance.

· Technical knowledge Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Must be able to obtain a gaming license (similar requirements to a security clearance)
· Maintain production network
· Network issue identification and resolution
· Environment change control
· Author and maintain operations documentation
· Daily log file and alert monitoring
· Develop, execute, and oversee project plans to meet networking needs
· Develop (improve) and implement efficient network utilization strategies
· Develop (improve) and implement operations / deployment standards
· Volume / load growth planning
· Hardware / software recommendation/procurement
· Mentor and train Network Engineering associates
· Supervise and coordinate Network Engineering activities
· Research, architect, design and implementation of network-related Technology initiatives such as:
o Intrusion detection systems
o Security best practices / audits
o Disaster recovery scenarios
o Fault management systems
o Application performance / load testing
Knowledge/Skills Required · 10+ years of experience in network engineering
· Experience with network architectures and protocols
· Experience with network system design
· Strong communication and project management skills
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills
· Extensive knowledge of Cisco technologies and internetworking concepts
Education, Training and Experience
Bacheloregree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical or professional experience related to the design, installation, and maintenance of local and wide area networks required.
Physical Demands · Must be able to lift 40 pounds, transport 10 feet without tools or assistance, and place gently on a tabletop.
· Ability to travel internationally and within the US
Work Environment This is a non-smoking office environment.
