Desktop Engineer Architect - Windows 10 Migration

JOB DESCRIPTION: Engineering Architect
- We need a seasoned senior desktop engineer with extensive automation, power shell scripting, SQL and hands on experience with finance windows 10 migrations (build and app remediation, custom USMT).
- Must have UEM (User Experience Management) design and implementation experience (UPM, UeV) and application migration experience. Ideally some recent Altiris.
- The Client Engineering Team is committed to delivering enterprise class Windows Desktop builds and are responsible for all aspects of the design, configuration and integration of the Windows Desktops into the firm, whether on premise physical / VDI or off premise VDI.
- The team is also responsible for the engineering of the firm's browser and productivity platforms.
- We are looking for a person to help us design and implement the next generation of enterprise computing.
- Our vision includes end user desktops being treated as mostly disposable platforms, lightly managed devices whether on premise physical / VDI or off premise VDI.
Role Overview: - As an Engineer Architect within the Client Engineering Team you will be a leader in the Windows 10 migration and introduce strategic desktop and possible cloud related technologies into the firm.
- You will ensure products meet the necessary security, supportability and performance requirements whilst meeting our user's expectations around user experience.
Qualifications: - Deep technical understanding of Windows Desktop operating systems up to and including Windows 10.
- Powershell and scripting expertise, with extensive experience automating Windows desktop builds, migrations, app delivery and lifecycle environments.
- Experience working with Cloud Infrastructure providers a plus though not essential.
- Knowledge of common Windows Infrastructure I.e. Active Directory/GPO.
- Extensive experience with third party tools used to manage/support large environments. i.e. Altiris.
- In depth knowledge of VDI and / or applications layering using UniDesk or similar would be a plus
- Knowledge of software packaging tools (e.g. InstallShield, App-V sequencer, Wise).
- MDM/MAM (InTune, MobileIron, Airwatch, etc) Implementation Design Experience, preferably managing a desktop-class operating system.
- Experience in engineering Large Scale Deployment/Migrations of Office 2010/2013/2016/365
- Strong troubleshooting mind-set (i.e. parsing event log, Sysinternals tools, analyzing memory dumps etc).
- Experience of large scale desktop deployment tools and techniques in large distributed organizations.
- Ability to write technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks).
