Role Summary/Purpose GE Healthcare is seeking a Software Engineer for the Computed Tomography (CT) team. The Software Engineer will be accountable for successful design and implementation of one or more assigned features, modules or components in product software. This will span the full life-cycle of these deliverables including analysis, design, development, release and maintenance.
Essential Responsibilities rk closely with product specialists, systems teams and software architects to translate user clinical and workflow needs to software epics, features, use cases, stories and requirements.
- As part of the team, design, develop, test, refactor and continuously improve product software.
- Deliver to expected timelines and quality standards.
- Apply Agile, Lean, Software FMEA and Continuous Integration methodologies to drive reliability upstream in the product development lifecycle.
- Continuously expand technical knowledge, keep abreast of emerging software technologies and apply them to MICT software.
- Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge.
- Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
- Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.
- Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen.
- Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
Qualifications/Requirements chelor's Degree in Computer Science or in Mjors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- At least two years hands-on experience in programming languages such as JAVA/C++, Webservices/REST
- Experience in client-side programming such as javascript, Angular, HTML5, CSS
- Experience in database technologies such as postgres, REST frameworks for webservices
- A good working knowledge on Linux/UNIX OS, scripting (bash/csh/python)
- Working knowledge in configuration management tools such as git
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

- Must be willing to work out of an office located in Waukesha, WI
Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
- Experience developing and shipping safety-critical software in the regulated industry (healthcare, aviation, transportation)
- Java programming experience and Java Swing API.
- Expertise in Java, Javascript, OSGi, multi-threaded programming, object-oriented design, service-oriented architecture, design patterns, Linux development.
- Experience with REST, microservices, Linux containers.
- Experience developing cloud applications and cloud technology stacks.
- Knowledge of Hadoop, NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of data science, predictive modeling, machine learning.
- Experience in Agile development including Continuous Integration, Automated Testing, Maven.
- Technical team leadership experience.
