Position Dimensions (scope)
The Senior Project Engineer reports to Director Customer Response Centre (CRC) responsible for providing Engineering data to support operations, Quality and customers.
Basic Purpose and Function
The Senior Project Engineer will:
Organise Customer product approvals including special testing outside international standards.
Qualify internal and external Coupling ranges on Gates hose ranges.
Create crimp data through crimp trials and manufacture test samples for testing in one of Gates Fluid power Test Labs when required.
Support the introduction of New Customer platforms.
Create technical data as required to support Manufacturing including for guards and sleeves
Customer support beyond applications.
Support Quality
Support Applications
Lead multi-functional project teams where necessary
Promote and Develop business processocally and globally
Guide and develop team members.
Potentially become the leader of a Global Team
Contacts

Frequent contact with: Hose and coupling development groups, Operations and Applications groups. Regular contact: with other CRC team members. Internal (offsite): l>
Regular contact with Product Management, Operations and Global CRC team members. Occasional contact with Quality. External: l>

Normal office working hours occasionally extended for special circumstances. Interpersonal and facilitation skills required to work in a multi-disciplinary environment are essential. A positive and helpful attitude to team members and Customers must be maintained. Work in a tidy organised way and progress work at a pace to support a continually changing department.
Job Requirements Education / Experience
A Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering combined with relevant experience.
Computer literacy is essential including being competent with Microsoft Office. CAD experience would be an advantage but not essential. A knowledge of hydraulic hose and couplings together with the relevant International standards they are made and tested to would be an advantage.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
