We are looking for expert Application Security Engineer to ensure that systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. If you enjoy analyzing the security of applications and services, discovering and addressing security issues and quickly reacting to new threat scenarios, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity. You will participate in security audits, risk analysis, vulnerability testing and security reviews across all elements of our software systems.
A Security Engineer at Amazon Robotics is expected to be strong in multiple domains and across the software stack. The Security Engineer will work across the engineering organization to help make sure that best security practices are adhered to. They must also continually and proactively improve their knowledge of the security industry, best practices and how to apply them to the AR solution.
Some key aspects of the role include:
- Identify security issues and risks, and develop mitigation plans
- Architect, design, implement, support, and evaluate security-focused tools and services
- Work with partners across Amazon to develop and interpret security policies and procedures
- Develop and deliver training. Evangelize security and create security awareness across the company
- Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies
- Participate in security incident handling
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- 8+ years experience in commercial software development with multiple languages and operating systems (Linux, Unix, C, C++, Java)
- 7+ Experience in application-level vulnerability testing and auditing
- 7+ years of application security experience
- Experience and detailed technical knowledge in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, and application security
- Detailed knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques, including penetration testing and the development of exploits
- Knowledge of network and web related protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent leadership skills and teamwork skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience with service-oriented architecture and web services security is highly desired
