Overview / Responsibilities Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking an experienced Geologist or Civil / Environmental Engineer in the South Louisiana area to become an integral member of our team in our Baton Rouge Louisiana office. Wood is a multi-disciplined engineering, environmental, and construction services consulting firm. We are routinely awarded contracts on a regional and national level for the government, commercial, industrial, transportation, water, energy and mining sectors.
Key Responsibilities The candidate will be a member of our team providing a diverse range of geology and environmental related services which may include:
Evaluation of contaminated sites
Phase I and Phase II assessments
Preparation of conceptual site models and remedial alternatives analyses
Evaluation of site risk following the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (LDEQ) Risk Evaluation Corrective Action Program (RECAP)
Design, implement and manage various soil and groundwater investigation and remedial projects
Operation and maintenance of remediation systems
Prepare designs / bidding documents for soil excavation, demolitions and soil / groundwater remediation systems (enhanced biological , chemical oxidation, air sparging, soil vapor extraction systems, pump and treat and soil excavation)
Review of plans, specifications and special provisions for remediation systems
Projects include Federal and commercial industrial
Prepare engineering cost estimates to implement remedial technologies
Prepare specifications, plans and other bid documents for implementation of remedial technologies
Skills / Qualifications Bachelors or Masteregree in Geology, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or related fields
Louisiana PG or PE with Ten (10+) years of environmental consulting experience
Proven experience managing geological or environmental projects in accordance with Louisiana Environmental Rules
Demonstrated experience evaluating and/or closing sites under the LDEQ RECAP
Understanding of means and methods associated with environmental remediation technologies and treatment systems air sparging systems, pump and treat and soil excavation
Experience with in-situ soil and groundwater biological remediation technologies and DNAPL highly desired
Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
Ability to work effectively with team members as well as independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate effective organizational skills
40 hr. OSHA HAZWOPER Certified
Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Physical Demands Applicant must have the ability to work in varying environments (office, lab and field settings)
