Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Software Engineer for a contract assignment with one of our premier financial services clients in New York, NY. The senior software engineer will architect and develop software systems in support of maintaining and expending our Regulatory projects and web dashboard. They will be working with technologies such as SQL Server database, C# .NET, WPF, AngularJS, NodeJS. This person will be required to adapt to new programming languages in changing environments and work with 3rd party applications, solutions, and API's. The senior software engineer will be a part of a cross functional team which will support existing products as well as gather data and determine future product lines. Candidates should have experience with best practices in software development including testing, code reviews and coding practices.
Responsibilities: - Candidate will spend time developing, testing, maintaining, releasing and supporting software application.
- Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications, translate them into software designs, develop, test, release and maintain the application end to end
- Analyze existing processes add features, make modification, fix bugs, improve the existing application while adhering to Software design and coding best practices
- Candidate would support the business users for any sort of enquiries internal and external to the software application
- Unit test coverage for C# and SQL Server, Improve code quality using different tools like sonarqube
- Document new and existing PAA processes and work with production support to onboard them, work with support on any issue.
- Use user story tracking tools like JIRA/TFS to manage sprints and ensure moving work items forward in timely fashion.
- Work with the offshore technology team and collaborate effort
- Involve in the code review process, and help other developers to write better code by using the code review process
- Work with the QA team to ensure the releases are well tested, to make sure release stream line with all QA item tested
Required Skills: - 8-10+ years working C# .NET
- SQL Server
- WPF is Required
- PHD/ Master's/Bachelor's Degree in computer science / software development related field or equivalent experience
- Experience in developing RESTful API's.
- Experience in development and deployment of cloud based applications.
- Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum.
- Test Driven Development
- Pair Programming
- Proficient with deep knowledge and working of SQL Server database
- Candidate should be well versed with C# programming language and experience working with multithreaded code.
Preferred Skills:
- Fixed income / Securitized markets business understanding is good to have
- Java
