Patriot missiles have been protecting our nationarfighters and allies for decades. Boeing Huntsville has a multi-year contract to develop, manufacture, and test the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile seeker and future improvements. This contract and associated site consolidations are driving significant, long-term growth for the PAC-3 engineering team on the Huntsville campus.
This position is for an experienced Project Engineer on PAC-3 in Huntsville, AL.
The ideal candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Provide Engineering leadership to a multiple skill area team, including external disciplines and customers;
Develop statements of work (SOW) for engineering design development, manage SOW changes and assesses the impact of those changes;
Support proposal development and lead project execution by identifying activities, resources and events required to complete the work statement. Identify performance metrics and implement data gathering processes;
Plan, identify and coordinate Engineering resource requirements;
Identify opportunity plans, and risk and issue mitigation plans;
Assess project performance, comparing actual results to baseline plan, and identify lessons learned. Implement corrective actions to improve performance.

Qualifications Education / Typical Experience:
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit:
This position requires that you work out of Huntsville, Alabama. You must currently reside in the Huntsville, Alabama area (where relocating would not be required) or be willing to relocate at your own expense.
Note: Through 2018 there will be extensive travel (
50%) while site consolidation activities are completed. A Domestic Temporary Assignment to Huntington Beach, CA for 6 to 10 months is also a possibility if the employee and program management concur.
Required Skills: - Experience with project management theory, including critical path methodology, risk management, project scope management.
Preferred Skills: - Executing budget management principles and practices;
- Properly documenting processes, organizing people and activities, separating and combining tasks into an efficient work flow;
- Experience with responsibilities and tasks performed by engineering disciplines (electrical, mechanical, systems and software).
