This role is on one of Insitu's air vehicle teams. This role will work with other engineers and designers to achieve the goals of assigned programs and projects.
A successful candidate would need to be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions would need to be imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization
objectives. This implies a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in mechanical engineering.
The Mechanical Engineer will works under the direction of the lead mechanical engineer. They will contribute to determining and developing approaches to solutions.
Excellent communication skill are required the successful candidate will represents the organization
in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
Qualifications EY SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience with computer aided tools including both solid modeling and drafting packages is required. Experience with Solidworks is strongly desired.
Experience using FEA modeling tools is desired.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials science, and prototyping techniques is strongly desired.
- Ability to apply mechanical engineering theories to practical designs is required.
- Ability to establish test requirements from supporting documentation, test plans, internal and external customers is desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Knowledge of polymers and composite materials is desired.
- Knowledge of design and drafting methods including geometric dimensioning & tolerance is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of engineering tests techniques, methods, equipment and instrumentation is strongly desired.
- Knowledge of domestic and international regulations (e.g. FAA or DOD regulations) on the certification of test articles/vehicles to assure compliance of design is desired.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 2-4 years in an engineering classification with a Bachelor's degree or 0-3 years in an engineering classification with a Master's degree.
