We are seeking a talented and motivated software engineer to join the Medical Reporting team to help us lead a transformation in cancer care by writing software that makes cancer data accessible to clinicians, researchers, and patients.
This role is focused on the inepect of medical reporting. The Engine is a Java application that is responsible for facilitating the business logic of Medical Reporting, from curation of clinical trials, therapies, and genomic data to matching patient data to said trials and therapies. Responsibilities:
An ideal candidate would have a broad range of experience but have a focus and passion for the JAVA language and technology and have a passion for building stable and reliable software to be used at an enterprise level. This person would also be a dedicated team player who has the ability and desire to work within a large and distributed, yet highly integrated team (both technically and socially). Additionally, this candidate would have experience working in agile/scrum teams to deliver software to stakeholders.
Develop and maintain Java software for the Medical Reporting platform.
Work closely with the rest of the Medical Reporting team to ensure the stability of the entire system.
Work with our business stakeholders and user experience team to understand and interpret business requirements into stories.
Work to mentor and lead more junior members of the team and work to ensure smooth knowledge transfer when onboarding new members.
Quickly and effectively identify, diagnose, and resolve support issues pertaining to the medical reporting platform.
Help design testing strategies, and develop good automated tests.
Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced development environment. Qualifications:
Must have a Bacheloregree or higher in a technical field.
5+ years of experience developing multi-tier applications.
Deep understanding of the Java language.
Familiarity with Java ecosystem (Spring, Gradle, JUnit, JDBC, Hibernate).
Deep understanding of relational database technologies and SQL.
Familiarity with version control (ideally Git).
Familiarity with continuous integration technologies.
Comfort with complex software patterns and architectures.
Experience building REST services.
Experience working within a large development team and working closely with team members.
Experience working with business stakeholders and user experience designers. Desired Skills and Experience:
Some familiarity with molecular biology and genomics.
Experience working with specific relational database technologies (Oracle, Postgres).
Experience with DevOps tools and processes.
Experience working within an agile development process.
Experience with event sourcing, event-based architectures.
Experience with Docker.
Experience with AWS.
Familiarity with the Atlassian suite including Jira and Confluence.
Experience building software in a regulated industry.
