- SCHEDULE: Variety of full-time and part-time hours. Every other weekend and holiday rotations required.
- HOURS: Options available: (DAYS: 7AM - 3:30PM), (DAY 12HR: 7AM-7:30PM), (PM: 3PM-11:30PM), (NIGHTS: 11PM-7:30AM) or (NIGHT 12 HR: 7PM-7:30AM)
- UNITS: Schedule and Hours vary based on current unit openings in medical surgical, intermediate, critical care and float pool units.

JOB & UNIT DESCRIPTION:
The PCA II associate is vital to the success of our health care ministry in our Level I trauma and award-winning hospital. The purpose of the PCA II is to assist the RN with:
- Planning and performing general patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse
- Providing clerical support to the unit, as assigned
- Assisting with maintaining the patient care environment
- Planning and promoting a smoother workflow and provides a positive hospital experience for patients, families and visitors.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - High school graduate or equivalent
- CNA (if non-nursing student)
- Completion of IL approved CNA training program and pass a written competency test.
- OR - * Have successfully completed a nursing arts course (e.g., Basics in Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Nursing 101). **Must provide an official transcript indicating successful completion and at least 40 hours of supervised clinical experience in an accredited nurse training program.
- CPR
- Competent patient care with ADLs; ability to accurately take vital signs
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Good customer service skills with the ability to address patient/ family needs
- Ability to frequently stand, stoop, bend, push, pull, climb, lift and demonstrate manual dexterity for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and assist with the movement of heavy patients and or equipment, up to 300 pounds with assistance.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
