Responsibilities

Provide direct technical support to GPS III space and ground operations.

These activities will include:

• GPS III Early Orbit Operations and associated exercises and rehearsals
• GPS III Orbit Test and Checkout activities
• GPS III orbital operations prior to control transfer to Schriever AFB
• Technical support of Launch Control System operations, upgrades, and testing

The primary job location for this position will be at the Launch Control Center, Lockheed-Martin Waterton Canyon facility, Littleton Colorado. The selected candidate will also spend time working at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs Colorado.

Key Functions

Technical Responsibilities:

• Provide direct technical support to GPS III Early Orbit activities and preparations as an Aerospace Lead Technical Advisor or early orbit Mission Planner
• Provide direct technical support to GPS III On Orbit Testing and Checkout, covering both vehicle bus and payload activities
• Provide direct technical support to GPS III on-orbit operations as the Aerospace Lead TA and payload technical analyst, to include anomaly response and resolution
• Coordinate with Schriever AFB operations personnel as needed to support GPS III operations
• Keep management and the customer well informed on system and vehicle status, including testing and anomaly reporting

Qualifications

Required

• Bacheloregree in an engineering or scientific discipline
• 8 or more years overall experience in engineering or scientific disciplines
• General space operations experience, including vehicle bus and/or payload operations
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic technical environment at an offsite contractor facility
• Occasional travel
• A current DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred

• An advanced degree in an engineering or science discipline
• GPS specific space operations experience, including vehicle bus and/or payload operations
• Detailed design knowledge of the GPS space vehicle families, both current and future, and the GPS Control Segment
• Detailed knowledge of GPS system design and operation
• Detailed design and operations knowledge of the GPS III space vehicle family
• Knowledge of GPS Launch Control System (OCX Block 0) design and operation
• Detailed design and operations knowledge of the current GPS Space and Control Segments
