Job Description Bose Corporation is world renowned for our premium audio systems. Our group is Audio Systems Research which is responsible for developing new audio system concepts. We engage in work using an interactive hands-on approach, where physical systems serve as a platform for experimentation and demonstration.
Our engineers rely on innovative software tools, to assist in the design, evaluation, and demonstrations of these audio system concepts. We provide tools, up-to-date documentation, and education to the Bose audio systems design community.
We are looking for an engineer to join our team who has an interest in audio systems and enjoys working on a team as a lead contributor to the tools needed to design, measure and analyze audio systems in both lab and field environments. A desire to support the tools we develop in our engineering community is essential.
Candidates will ideally have backgrounds in multiple areas including audio measurements, digital signal processing, software, acoustics, audio engineering and have some practical experience with audio hardware.
An MS degree is required in the field of electrical, mechanical or computer engineering or other applicable degree with a preferably with emphasis on digital signal processing, audio engineering, applied software and other relevant fields.
Skills - 3+ years of industry software development experience
- Expert programming skills in Matlab and Matlab classes
- Understanding of Matlabse and interface to Java
- A strong practical familiarity with audio signals and audio systems. Hands on experience and interest (job and/or personal) in live sound, home or car audio, recording etc. is desirable
- Practical familiarity with audio amplifiers, speakers, microphones, signal routing, and debugging hardware setups and signal issues such as ground loops etc.
- Expert in customer-valued interface design. Some experience in Matlab or equivalent GUI design is desirable
- Working knowledge of digital signal processing concepts
- Champion for quality/maintainable coding standards
- Excellent communication skills are needed to solicit the needs of the engineering community and support the tools we have developed
